Project Description

Harnessing the power of the sun.

Smart Ontario is harnessing the power of the sun. Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels coming to the Convention Center, Toyota Arena and City Hall Annex will take advantage of all the sun Ontario gets. Unlike coal or natural gas, solar energy is clean, GHG emission-free and renewable, making it as good for the environment as it is for the City’s fiscal health. The solar panels empower the City with its own source of energy, alleviating both strain on California’s electrical grid and the City’s dependence on utilities. This means less taxpayer dollars will go toward utility bills, and instead, toward community enrichment. Learn more about Smart Ontario Projects.
