Ontario’s new LED streetlights aren’t just any old streetlights.

They use incredibly efficient LED technology that takes less energy and emits fewer greenhouse gases. Plus, they have a longer lifespan, reducing maintenance and operations costs.

What makes them particularly special, however, are the connectivity nodes connecting each light into the City’s wireless mesh network. These smart connectivity nodes give Ontario the infrastructure it needs to expand its municipal fiber network–another step forward in bringing Internet to all homes and businesses on City grounds!

Not only that, but staff can use these nodes to remotely manage and monitor the lights. Soon they’ll be able to dim, brighten and figure out when lights aren’t working properly without having to dispatch staff to manually check. Learn more about Smart Ontario Projects.
