Pools at the Westwind Swim Center and Dorothy Quesada Swim Center are getting new energy-efficient pool heaters called solar thermal heating systems. Unlike traditional pool heating systems that run on natural gas, the City’s pools now heat up primarily using renewable heat energy straight from the sun. These systems do not emit greenhouse gases that negatively affect the quality of our outdoor air, making them less costly to both the environment and taxpayers.
